After a long career with the Marine Corps, a friend was searching for work. I asked him a few basic questions to help: where he wanted to live, when he wanted to start, industry preferences, things he really enjoyed doing, etc.

I also asked how he felt about technology (from memory he had been a technophobe).

He replied to each of my questions in turn.

To the final question about technology, he simply said “As to that question, I’ll find a way to win.”

I’ll find a way to win.

Leaders find a way to win

Great leaders find a way to win.

They’re tenacious.

Sometimes, this involves contemplation and deep thinking to discover an alternative strategy. Other times, the recipe is simple, consistent execution.

There may be individual losses on the way, but they remain maniacally focused on the final goal.
